Capital investment will be about £125,000 + VAT in addition to this there may be an additional cash flow requirement which will be illustrated in your business plan.

Boots Opticians work closely with the major banks, many have been supporting our franchisees for over 20 years. This track record combined with our robust business model means that the banks are keen to support new Franchise Partners.

You need a minimum of £4,000 of your own money to invest with the banks providing the remainder of the investment over a 10 year business loan. If you choose to pay your loan back sooner, that is fine and there are no penalties for early settlement.

It is likely that the bank will require some form of security for your loan, normally from equity in a property. If you don’t have sufficient equity to secure your loan then the government Enterprise Loan Guarantee Scheme may be able support you by providing the necessary security. This scheme is operated by the D.T.I to support new businesses start ups and has to date helped many people fulfil their ambitions.
